Our agency was founded in 1940 as the Society for Crippled Children with the vision of helping children with polio and other disabilities lead better lives. From this foundation grew the Achievement Centers for Children, which now serves children, teens and adults with a broad range of disabilities and special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other physical, developmental, neurological and emotional challenges. Our unique, comprehensive service model blends together education and autism services, family support, occupational, speech and physical therapies, and recreation, camp and sports programs to meet the needs of the entire family, and provide the best possible outcomes.

Last year, the Achievement Centers for Children provided services to over 2,000 individuals at our three locations (Highland Hills, Westlake and Camp Cheerful in Strongsville), and in childcare centers, schools and homes throughout the community.  This represents achievement in many forms including

• Providing over 232,000 service hours to children and adults, and their families;

• Receiving a client satisfaction rate of  99%  through family surveys received;

• 96% of the clients receiving services at the Achievement Centers achieved or partially achieved their individualized goals, including improved functional skills, increased academic achievement, and improved social/emotional development.
