Achievement Centers for Children

Founded in 1940, the Achievement Centers for Children serves children, teens and adults with a broad range of disabilities and special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other physical, developmental, neurological and emotional challenges. Our unique, comprehensive service model blends together education and autism services, family support, occupational, speech and physical therapies, and recreation, camp and sports programs to meet the needs of the entire family, and provide the best outcomes and achievements.

In 2016, the Achievement Centers for Children provided services to over 2,500 individuals at our three locations (Highland Hills, Strongsville and Westlake), and in childcare centers, schools and homes throughout the community.  This represents achievement in many forms including:

Providing over 232,000 service hours to children and adults, and their families;

  • Receiving a client satisfaction rate of 98% through family surveys received;

  • 96% of the clients receiving services at the Achievement Centers achieved or partially achieved their individualized goals, including improved functional skills, increased

academic achievement, and improved social/emotional development.

At the Achievement Centers for Children, we provide many of our programs regardless of a family’s ability to pay. In 2016, this equated to over $1.2 million in subsidized services, with 82% of every contributed dollar going directly to providing services to those most in need. In 2017 the Achievement Centers for Children received another 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, the highest possible rating, for demonstrating strong financial health, commitment to accountability and executing our mission in a financially efficient way
