On
November 10, 2012, the Achievement Centers for Children will honor
Robert J. King, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of Park View
Federal Savings Bank, for his dedication and advocacy for children with
disabilities and their families. Our annual celebration, Sparkle,
Shimmer & Shine, has become one of Cleveland’s most respected and
enjoyable charity galas, and the Achievement Centers largest fundraising
event.
The
evening will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the InterContinental Hotel &
Conference Center and will include a cocktail reception, an elegant
seated dinner, dancing, and a special tribute to Mr. King. A live and
silent auction of more than 100 extraordinary items will help generate
support for the Achievement Centers for Children.
For over 70 years, the Achievement Centers for Children has been fulfilling their mission to enable and empower children with disabilities and their families to grow, learn, play and prepare for lifelong achievement in society. We provide comprehensive and family-centered services for children and individuals with a wide range of disabilities in schools, child care centers, homes and at the Achievement Centers’ three locations in Highland Hills, Westlake and Camp Cheerful in Strongsville. Through therapy, recreation and adapted sports, autism services, family support and education, the Achievement Centers serves over 3,900 children annually.
While a festive evening for the attendees, Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine generates significant revenue for the Achievement Centers for Children. Over 83% of the event’s proceeds go directly to the programs and services of the Achievement Centers, an excellent return of philanthropic investment for sponsors.
